Argentine ant colonies can grow to monumental size. A single colony can contain several hundred thousand workers with the colony borders sometimes cover entire habitats. Argentine ant colonies are located in wet environments near a food source. Keep tree branches and other plants cut back from the house. Sometimes pests like Argentine ants use these branches to get into your home. Make sure that there are no cracks or little openings around the bottom of your house.

The German cockroach is the most common species of the cockroach. German cockroaches are good hitchhikers and often find their way into new structures via grocery bags, cardboard boxes, drink cartons and secondhand appliances. German cockroaches prefer to live in warm, humid places close to food and moisture sources. They are frequently found in residential and commercial kitchen environments, and bathrooms.

Black widow spiders are most recognized for the red hourglass shape under their abdomen. Black widow spiders spin irregular webs. House crickets are nocturnal or active at night and usually hide in dark warm places during the day. Outside, they feed on plants and dead or live insects. Indoors, house crickets can feast on fabric, eating large areas, leaving holes. These rats can cause damage to properties and structures through their gnawing. Norway rats are primarily nocturnal and often enter a home in the fall when outside food sources become scarce.
